The Vyapi™ eNodeB

Lekha brings a unique proposition of completely indigenous 4G technology, built ground up, using our own software stacks and hardware design. We support both greenfield and brownfield deployments, including rural and underserved areas, turnkey implementations for private enterprise network use cases, Network-in-a-Box requirements and Public Protection and Disaster Recovery (PPDR) and Smart Utilities.  

 Our LTE eNodeB product, Vyapi™, supports multiple TDD and FDD bands with RF power up to 40W, covering small cell and macrocell needs. Radio front-ends are available for Bands 1, 5, 28, 41, 48(CBRS), and B31/B72/B73 (450 MHz) for PPDR and Smart Utilities use. Other LTE bands can be supported as required. Antenna configurations consist of 2T2R, 2T4R and 4T4R. Vyapi™ can be deployed indoors or outdoors. It has been integrated and tested with multiple EPC vendors, and UEs using different chip solutions.

The Vyapi™ LTE NIB

The Vyapi™ Network-in-a-Box (NIB) is an integrated 4G network node consisting of the RAN, the EPC and compute for use-case-specific edge applications, integrated into a single unit. It has been tested for  VoLTE, ViLTE and mission-critical features, and supports local breakout. 

The Vyapi™ NIB is built in a light, compact, rugged IP67 enclosure for outdoor or indoor deployments. It is a portable unit that can be vehicle-mounted or carried as a manpack. The unit is designed to support rapid deployment of 4G services to form a network bubble, or to fill coverage holes. It can support wired or wireless backhaul networks, including satellite links. 

The Lekha 4G Element Management System (EMS)

The Lekha EMS (“EMS”) is an Element Management System that provides remote provisioning, configuration, fault handling and performance monitoring of Lekha 4G Networks (“eNB”.) It also interconnects with 3rd party Network Management Systems (NMS) and Centralized Self-Optimizing Network (CSON) elements, using Rest APIs. Below are key highlights of Lekha EMS.

NB-IOT and NTN Upgrade

Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) is an offshoot or upgrade of LTE, and continues to evolve as part of the 5G NR standard. Its unique features of low power consumption, low implementation cost and low complexity make it attractive for cellular operators to offer a carrier-grade IoT network. NB-IoT provides connectivity to IoT devices with respectable range and bandwidth, while co-existing with 4G and 5G networks. Lekha provides a software upgrade for NB-IoT on our VyapiTM eNodeB.  

Satellite-based IoT networks are gaining momentum. Satellites launched in GEO and LEO can provide coverage over large areas. Low throughput and delay tolerant IoT networks have become the early choice for Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) roll out. The NB-IoT feature in 3GPP Release 14 has evolved and will form IoT NTN in Release 17.
